The search is under way for a community-focused Chair to lead the new board that will oversee Mablethorpe’s Pride in Place programme, supported by up to £20 million in UK government funding.
With Pride in Place, residents, businesses, and community groups will deliver real improvements that matter to local people. It will support investment in the priorities local people value most – from improving high streets and public spaces to culture and green spaces.
This exciting role offers the opportunity for someone with a strong connection to Mablethorpe and a real passion for the town to lead the new Board, help shape the plan for investment and drive the delivery of the Pride in Place programme forward. The new Chair will be a champion for the town, a leader for others, and someone who is committed to making change happen and seeing it through.
The post of Chair offers the chance to work collaboratively with a range of different people and organisations, and crucially, make sure that local voices are truly heard by placing the community at the heart of the programme.
Experience in a similar position isn’t necessary as support will be given. Applications are invited from people who care about the town, are ambitious for its future, and who want to make a positive difference for Mablethorpe.
Councillor Steve Kirk, Portfolio Holder for the Coastal Economy, East Lindsey District Council: “This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in making change happen in Mablethorpe.
“Working with a Board and supported by officers, our new Chair will be at the forefront of developing and delivering the Pride in Place programme, ensuring that it reflects the needs and wishes of local people.
“We are looking for someone who is passionate about the town, and who wants to make a long-term and meaningful difference to the lives of people living here.
“If this sounds like you, then please get in touch, and maybe you could be our new Chair, working with local residents, organisations, and partners so that we can make a difference – together for Mablethorpe.”
The Chair will get to carry out varied activities, including leading the regular Board meetings, shaping the regeneration and investment plan priorities with the Mablethorpe Neighbourhood Board and acting as spokesperson for the programme.
People can apply with a covering letter setting out their interest in the role and the skills they would bring as Chair, together with a CV. The covering letter should be no more than 1,000 words or two sides of A4.
The letter and CV should be sent via email: bonnie.mitchell@e-lindsey.gov.uk or post: Bonnie Mitchell, Pride in Place Programme Manager, East Lindsey District Council, The Hub, Mareham Road, Horncastle, LN9 6PH.
The closing date for all applications is midnight, 21st June 2026. Full details of this voluntary role and a job description can be found here.
Anyone who would like an informal conversation about the role can contact Bonnie Mitchell, Pride in Place Programme Manager via email: bonnie.mitchell@e-lindsey.gov.uk
