People in Mablethorpe and the surrounding area are being urged to share their thoughts on their town as community engagement to shape a multi-million programme for the area gets underway.
Last year, it was announced that Mablethorpe was selected by the government to receive up to £20 million Pride in Place funding over a ten-year period, starting from April 2027.
Now, engagement is beginning to understand local people’s priorities for Mablethorpe and the surrounding area, with community feedback set to be at the heart of how this funding is invested.
To kickstart the conversations in Mablethorpe, on Thursday 4th June, workshops were held at the Campus for Future Living – built with the help of a Towns Fund government grant – for community champions and elected representatives. The sessions gave the opportunity for attendees to share their feedback, but crucially, also focused on how attendees can carry out their own community engagement events and activities to help inform the programme.
These workshops were followed by the Mablethorpe Pride in Place team hosting a stall at the Campus for Future Living’s one year celebration event on Wednesday 10th June. During the day, people stopped by to share their ideas for investment in the town.
Next up, the Pride in Place team will attend the Vintage on Sea event in Sutton-on-Sea on Saturday 4th July, and there will be many more opportunities for people to share their thoughts in the coming weeks.

In addition, conversation cards and feedback boxes are also being distributed at key locations throughout the town for people to share their thoughts. And, importantly, community groups, organisations, and champions are being supported and encouraged to hold their own community conversations – further information can be found in the toolkit available on the website.
Councillor Steve Kirk, Portfolio Holder for the Coastal Economy, East Lindsey District Council said: “The views of local people are absolutely key to the success of the Pride in Place programme for Mablethorpe.
“The conversations with the community are now beginning, and the feedback that is being shared is invaluable as it gives a real sense of what matters to people in the town.
“I would encourage everyone to please get involved and have your say in a way that works for you. Come along to an event, fill in a conversation card, complete the online survey, or share your thoughts via the website – we want to hear from you.
“This is an exciting time for the town and by working together for Mablethorpe, we can all ensure that this funding makes a long-term, meaningful impact for the community.”
In addition, the search is now under way for a community-focused Chair to lead the new board that will oversee the Pride in Place programme in Mablethorpe.
Experience in a similar position isn’t necessary as support will be given. Applications are invited from people who care about the town, are ambitious for its future, and who want to make a positive difference for Mablethorpe.
The deadline for applications is midnight, 21st June 2026. Full details of this voluntary role and a job description can be found here.
