People in Mablethorpe are coming together to share their views and shape future multi-million pound investment in their area.
This summer, a series of events and community conversations are taking place where residents are being invited to share what they love about their town, what could be better, and where government funding should be prioritised.
It is all part of the work to develop a plan for the Pride in Place funding which will see up to £20million coming into the town over a ten year period, starting from April 2027.
Local people are at the very heart of deciding how this funding should be spent and community thoughts and ideas were highlighted at a community conversation event taking place on Friday 24th June, hosted by the Campus for Future Living and the Coastal Centre.
During the event, residents gave their feedback on what improvements they would like to see, and talked about how they would like to be involved and play a part in Pride in Place in the coming months and years.
The community conversation was the latest opportunity for local people to have their say, and follows on from previous workshops and meetings as well as Pride in Place team attendance at key local events, such as Vintage on Sea.
Community groups, champions, and organisations are playing a vital role in leading conversations, such as LN12 the youth council which held a feedback session for its members. In addition, Lincs Digital is supporting people in its sessions to share their thoughts online via the digital survey and the website.
Further opportunities for people to share their thoughts this summer are also planned, including the below community group hosted sessions:
Fabulous Communities – Shaping the Future Creative Consultation Event: taking place on Tuesday 11th August at 10am – 12pm, 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm in the Horizon Room at Seaview Colonnade. The event will encourage attendees to imagine a fabulous future for the coastal communities from Mablethorpe to Sandilands and get involved through clay and map-making. The event will be led by artist Nicki Jarvis and people can just drop in on the day.
Sutton on Sea Residents’ Association Meeting: taking place on Wednesday, 12th August 2026 at 7pm at the Bacchus Hotel.
Furlongs Festival: taking place on Wednesday 19th August at 11am – 4.30pm in the Playing Field on Furlongs Road in Sutton on Sea. The annual Village Show with entertainment, stalls, food and refreshments. Share your ideas at the Coastal Centre stall.
Lincs Digital sessions: anyone needing support to access the Mablethorpe Pride in Place online survey can attend one of the Lincs Digital sessions taking place this summer. The Lincs Digital team will be on hand to show residents how to scan a QR code and get online. These Lincs Digital sessions will be taking place:

- This session will have an NHS theme, but anyone requiring support with QR codes or other digital issues will also be able to receive assistance from Tony.

- Monday 24 August, 10:00am to 12:00 noon
In addition, the recently appointed Chair of Mablethorpe Neighbourhood Board Jacqueline Robinson will be speaking to people throughout the summer, and the Pride in Place team will also be in attendance at a number of events.
And, later this summer, interviewers will be out and about in the town to find out how people and businesses would like the funding prioritised in the area. The Government’s Pride in Place programme has been set up with the aims of thriving places, building stronger communities, and taking back control. Through Pride in Place, Mablethorpe will receive up to £20 million in government funding over ten years, starting from 2027.
The programme will be overseen by Mablethorpe Neighbourhood Board, led by the new Chair, and bring together representatives from a cross-section of the local community to promote community leadership, including public agencies and anchor institutions, cultural, arts, heritage and sporting organisations, local businesses, social enterprises, and community leaders. Community engagement is key to the success of the programme and there will be opportunities for local people to get involved in the months and years ahead.
