More communities in the Mablethorpe area are set to benefit from Pride in Place funding after the government approved a wider geographic boundary for the programme.
The revised boundary agreed with government not only covers Mablethorpe but also Sutton on Sea, Trusthorpe, and Sandilands.
The request to amend the geographic reach for the investment was made to government to reflect the town council area and ensure that the multi-million-pound funding can benefit more local people in a joined-up way.
The announcement of the boundary change comes after the Mablethorpe Neighbourhood Board met for the first time on Friday 27th August.
The recently convened Board, led by Chair Jacqueline Robinson working together with members who bring a range of experience and expertise, has begun the process of developing a vision and plan for the funding, informed by extensive community feedback.
Jacqueline Robinson, Chair, Mablethorpe Neighbourhood Board said: “I am so pleased that we have now had approval from government of the expanded boundary area for investment.
“What this means is that the Pride in Place funding can have a bigger reach into more communities, meeting the needs of local people, and making a real difference where it is needed.
“This announcement is very timely as the Board is now getting to work, with our priority being to understand what people have told us in the engagement and consultation that has been taking place this summer.
“We are in an exciting phase of the Pride in Place work as we turn the feedback from the community into a vision and plan that will really deliver for our area.”
The latest announcement comes after a programme of community engagement events, conversations, and consultation took place over the summer to capture people’s feedback, thoughts, and ideas to shape how the funding is invested. The Government’s Pride in Place programme has been set up with the aims of thriving places, building stronger communities, and taking back control. Through Pride in Place, Mablethorpe will receive up to £20 million in government funding over ten years, starting from 2027.
