Major government funding is coming into Mablethorpe over the next ten years – and local people are at the very heart of deciding how this money should be spent.
Through the government’s Pride in Place programme, Mablethorpe is set to receive £20M in funding, starting in 2027.
This funding is all about giving local people power to make Mablethorpe a stronger, thriving place.
The funding will be overseen by a Neighbourhood Board that is being set up, and more than half of those members will be from the local community.
And, starting right now, we’re asking local people to help to shape the plans for this investment: have your say today for Mablethorpe’s exciting future.
What’s Mablethorpe Pride in Place all about?
Mablethorpe is set to receive £20M in government funding as part of the Pride in Place programme. This programme has been set up with three aims – to support stronger communities, to create thriving places, and to help people take back control.
What can the money be spent on?
What the funding will be spent on in Mablethorpe will be decided with local people but it should be used for projects and activties that come under these themes:
- The Town Centre
- Housing, and helping people who are experiencing homelessness
- Getting work and the skills needed for jobs
- Bringing the community together
- Community power, helping people get involved and make decisions
- Health and wellbeing
- Transport, and getting around town
- Safety and security
- Learning and having access to opportunities
These themes are broad which means we can come up with varied and different projects for the funding – but what will be most important of all is that the money is invested in things the community wants.
63% of the funding has to be spent on capital projects, so physical projects, whilst the rest – 37% – can be spent on revenue projects, meaning activities that involve people.
Where can the funding be spent?
When will the funding start?
What do we have to do for the funding?
Who will oversee this funding?
Who will be carrying out the work?
Where can I find out more?
How can I get involved?
